"A Pearl of a Project: A much-needed flood control plan can help redevelop and revive a near downtown neighborhood. So what is the city waiting for?"
Don't miss this "must read" article by Mike Easterling of the Urban Tulsa Weekly who asks the hard questions about funding for the Pearl flood plan.  July 8, 2009 edition.

"Hidden Treasure in Tulsa's Pearl Dist"
BKL Architecture and Engineering awarded by Preservation Oklahoma for its adaptive reuse of the Pearl District's historic TulOil Building, the last small independent oil company building left standing in Tulsa.

"The Orbit of PlaniTulsa"
Freshest takes by our own Theron Warlick plus John Fregonese and Jack Crowley about the significant preference for downtown and near-downtown development.  All about the PlaniTulsa survey results in another finely-written article by Mike Easterling of the Urban Tulsa Weekly,  August 5, 2009 edition.

"If You Want to Grow It, Show It - - PLANiTULSA puts voters to the test: How badly do Tulsans want to revamp their city?"
An excellent article by Michael Bates in Urban Tulsa May 6, 2009 Edition

"Urban Planning and Form-Based Zoning (as now being considered for Tulsa's Pearl Dist)"
On April 10, Rich Fisher, host of KWGS' Studio Tulsa, interviewed Geoffrey Ferrell and Mary Madden, two urban planning experts with the firm of Ferrell Madden Lewis, LLC. This firm has been recently commissioned by INCOG to examine Tulsa's Pearl District vis a vis form-based zoning codes. So what does this sort of zoning entail? And how does such zoning relate to other key concepts of cityscape design, neighborhood improvement, and urban planning? And where exactly is the Pearl District, anyway?  An interesting interview that will appeal to anyone who cares about Tulsa's past, present, or future as "a great place to live."
