Form-Based Codes Pilot Phase I.  After years of diligent, persistant effort by the PDA to implement the progressive land use policy of Form-Based Codes in the Pearl District,  the pilot is now underway.  One of the nation's top consulting firms Ferrell Madden Lewis (FML) is under contract by the City to draft the implementation plan.  The pilot, which was approved by Mayor Taylor in 2008, is funded with Central Park TIF money and facilitated by INCOG with input from the PDA and City planners.  FML presented a program of land use and answered questions at a public meeting on April 9 at the Boathouse.  Rich Fisher, host of KWGS' Studio Tulsa, interviewed FML principals Geoffrey Ferrell and Mary Madden on  April 10. Listen to the broadcast here.

The historic Meadow Gold neon sign is now at home again on Route 66 -- this time in the Pearl District at 11th Street and Quaker.  More info.

"Urban Planning and Form-Based Zoning (as now being considered for Tulsa's Pearl District)"
On April 10, Rich Fisher, host of KWGS' Studio Tulsa, interviewed Geoffrey Ferrell and Mary Madden, two urban planning experts with the firm of Ferrell Madden Lewis, LLC. This firm has been recently commissioned by INCOG to examine Tulsa's Pearl District vis a vis form-based zoning codes. So what does this sort of zoning entail? And how does such zoning relate to other key concepts of cityscape design, neighborhood improvement, and urban planning? And where exactly is the Pearl District, anyway?  An interesting interview that will appeal to anyone who cares about Tulsa's past, present, or future as "a great place to live."
